Double room with bathroom (not en-suite but our housemates have an en-suite and thus the bathroom is exclusive use) in a 2nd floor flat overlooking Paddington recreation ground with a shared back garden and basement store room (the store room is exclusive to the flat, about the same size as the large bathroom). There is also additional secure bike storage in the basement. The flat is a 3 bedroom (3rd bedroom is used as a shared home office and guest bedroom, there is a built-in wardrobe in there that will be exclusively for your use) with separate kitchen, separate living room, and 2 bathrooms. We use the nearby Paddington Sports Club (3 min walk) as a gym (£30 per month) and love the local area.
My partner and I are moving out as I have been offered a job in New York, and our housemates (another gay couple) are looking to stay through the rest of the contract (rent locked in until October 2024, can break the lease with no penalty after October 2023).
Jonathan and Ed are really friendly (one is American the other British) and are both working professionals. We have all gotten along well over the past few years, and occasionally go out together but also have our own lives. Hosting is never an issue, and we use the office as a guest bedroom (by inflating Jonathan's king size air mattress) when people come to stay. Jonathan and Ed are neat and keep the place clean without being too stringent about it. We also have a cleaner (they are happy to negotiate the cleaner going forward) who comes twice a month, mostly just to make sure no one has to argue over who last cleaned the toilets :). Jonathan and Ed tend to go out on weekends and some nights during the week, but also have quiet nights in as well.
Bills (TV license, hyper-optic internet, water, gas, electric, council tax and the cleaner) come to under £200 per room per month (though obviously this might change). Singles and couples are welcome, but no pets unfortunately. We also have two fridges in the flat just to keep things organized between the two couples, and the landlord is pretty chill about swapping out furniture (at your expense, usually). All the furniture pictured comes with the flat (with the exception of the black desk, but happy to sell it for a reasonable price). The mattress was purchased new in October last year when we moved in (the landlord had also done a bit of work before we moved in - including fresh paint, new carpets, new white goods, etc.
Please feel free to reach out and we would be happy to chat over the phone to answer any questions and have you come view the place.
Preferable move-in from September 15th, but flexible until the end of the month.
