We’re Steph and Charlie - two northern queer professionals in the charity, social enterprise, and creative sectors. We’ve been sharing a home for 9 years, built on classic northern humour, so if you’re someone who takes life too seriously, this might not be the right fit for you.
We also share the space with Luna, our 14-year-old peach-coloured cat.
We’re seeking a professional, friendly, tidy, considerate, and independent person -age 35-50… with preferences for LGBT+ individuals… to join our household. Someone who values a calm and quiet home.
Ideally, we’d prefer someone working full-time outside of the house, but we’re open to discussions on this (I currently work from home 3-4 days a week).
The flat has a private garden (your room over looks it, all very green, and peaceful) that is filled with bluebells in spring, a bright and spacious living room, a lovely bathroom with shower and bath and a decent sized kitchen. There’s also a loft available for storage.
The room is a spacious double, unfurnished, and located at the garden end of the flat. It gets great morning sunlight and is so quiet you might forget you’re in London—it’s pretty special.
The flat itself was unfurnished, so you will be joining a proper home that is loved and cared for.
While we occasionally have dinners together, chat over coffee, or enjoy movie nights, we’re mostly quiet during the week due to work. We both lead independent lives and prefer to keep the party outside—home is a place for relaxation.
Turnpike Lane (N22) is fantastic, just a 5-minute walk to the station (Piccadilly Line) and close to Crouch End and Ally Pally (10 minutes by bus or bike). Seven Sisters station is a quick 5-minute bike ride away.
Our interests include solo wild camping, hiking, yoga, running, swimming, photography, travel, volunteering, and plants (obvs ). If you’re into nature, Epping Forest is only a 40-minute bus ride away.
Since it’s an LGBT+ household, we’d prefer another LGBT+ person or a strong ally.
The area has a great creative vibe, with Crawley Road Studios, local cafés, and an excellent pub with live music and quiz nights. Turnpike Lane Underground is just a 7-minute walk away. The neighbourhood is creative, yet quiet, friendly, and social—a real rarity in London.
If this sounds like a place you’d like to live, and you share our values around home, we’d love to hear from you!
